Saloy is a community of nearly 2,100 inhabitants, belonging to the town of Davao in the south of the island of Mindanao. Davao was once the center of cocoa cultivation. Saloy lies far outside the town of Davao, in a mountainous area with tropical forest.

Don Papa has put the Philippines on the world map as a rum-producing country since around 2010. It's also the first truly handcrafted Philippine rum. And that's despite the fact that this is arguably the country with the highest rum consumption.
